You want your family to live free and fulfilled. But sometimes you are exhausted from trying to find answers. You've tried so hard to make sure your child "fits in." You've struggled to make things work and to conform to the standards that be. You've sometimes felt alone, unheard and undervalued.
In your gut, you know what's good for your family. But if only you had a sounding board...

You've struggled to make things work and to conform to the standards that be. You've sometimes felt alone, unheard and undervalued.
In your gut, you know what's good for your family. But if only you had a sounding board...
You want...
- To experience ease and joy in your family life
- Your child to be seen as the brilliant, shining light they are
- To simplify the hard task of advocacy for your child
- Freedom from worry and heartache over each new school year, or next phase for your child
- For children everywhere with hearing loss to be heard and understood
- A world that is truly inclusive, offering fair and equal experiences for your child and all children with hearing loss
- To connect to people who get it. To hold you and share the burden. To make life a little easier for all of us
- And, more than anything else, to fulfill one of your deepest purposes for being here, in this life: to support your child well and watch them realize the miraculously fabulous life they were sent here to lead
It's tough, because:
- You feel alone on a quest that most people just don't "get"
- You are struggling to piece together what seems like endless moving parts for your child with hearing loss in a predominantly hearing world
- You don't have the time or energy to dedicate into figuring out all the pieces
- You feel you lack the creativity make impactful resources to support your child
- You don't have the business savvy to negotiate what's right for your child in an education system that will let kids like yours fall through the cracks
- You sometimes doubt what you are fighting for
- Mixed messages about your child are confusing and you lack the necessary faith and trust in your gut instinct on your kid and what they need
"Grief can be the garden of compassion. If you keep your heart open through everything,
your pain can become your greatest ally in your life's search for love and wisdom" -- Rumi

Why Can I Help You?
Because I've been there. I've mourned, I've cried, I've questioned, I've reasoned. I've listened, and I've gone against every instinct I had on what my kid really needs. But I've always gone back to searching for answers. Hearing professionals often do not tell you that hearing loss is much more than just a communication challenge. I've listened to educators that griped about my son's classroom behaviours and I've questioned what we've known about his experience. But, the more I kept searching, the more I found guiding pieces of light-filled information from experts in the field as well as grown ups with hearing loss. I've had moments of sheer bliss in cathartic realization that what we had been contending with is, in fact, a hearing loss issue, and NOT uncommon. And, I've put a lot of time and hard work into transmuting all that information to quality resources and supports so that he can start every new chapter with as much confidence as possible.
I spent years in the corporate world in both Communications and Marketing management. From my time in corporate Marketing, I learned a whole lot about negotiating strongly and fairly, not to mention standing up to bullies when necessary. Of course, being in Marketing and Communications for so long, I know a thing or two about effective written and visual communication, messaging, branding, and strategy. And aside from all of these, I am a mindfulness practitioner of well over 20 years. As a practising yoga therapist and movement and strength expert, I know the impact ritual, self care, and unwavering conviction have on your bigger goals. Most important, I'm a parent of a Deaf child. I remember the surgeon who did our son's Cochlear Implant surgery explaining to me, that, "Right now, the clinical team seem to be the experts. Six months from now, you'll be the expert." There is nothing quite like the lived experience!
You want the best for your child(ren). But not everybody has spent years learning Marketing strategy, or travelling far and wide learning tools and techniques and from ancient cultures to build up personal strength. My combination of life experiences have given me the gift of strong and effective advocacy for my child.
I want to help you achieve the same. You don’t have to dedicate 20+ years studying Communications, Marketing, or Mindfulness like I did to prepare me for, ultimately, the most important job of my life: advocating for my son. You're a busy parent and can't always be searching. But no matter how much time you have, your kid(s) deserve to have someone that has their back no matter what.
My intention is simple. To inspire and empower you to be such a strong parent and effective advocate that not only your child benefits, but awareness spreads and the world becomes a more friendly place for kids with hearing loss. I promise to empower you to step up into the most important job you'll ever have: advocating for your child. Despite our cultural and communication preferences, in serving our children well, we will change the world. Strong parent. Rockin' advocate!
